Hodnett belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a professional organization with a membership of 8,000 that represents men’s and women’s cross-country and track and field coaches in the United States. USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for coaches and lobbies for their interests. The Track and Field Academy is an educational and certification program from USTFCCCA designed to offer professional development opportunities for track and field and cross-country coaches at all levels of the sport.
The Track and Field Academy is the only professional improvement program that is designed by a coaching organization and uses an updated curriculum that is developed by highly successful coaches. As opposed to many programs that only address the technical aspects of coaching, the Track and Field Academy is an all-round training program that seeks to improve skills of coaches in other key areas such as budgeting, meet management, recruitment, purchasing, roster management, and academic monitoring among others. The logical sequence and organized mechanism of training ensures all key areas of the sport are well covered. Both USTFCCCA members and nonmembers are eligible to join the Track and Field Academy.
