With several decades of experience, Simon N. Hodnett is a track and field coach who works with the Long Island University Brooklyn Campus, which he joined in 2007. Alongside this, Simon N. Hodnett is associated with several professional organizations, including the USA Track & Field Foundation (USATF).

The nonprofit, which looks to increase the number of track and field programs available to young athletes, recently announced further grants to previous Stephen A. Schwarzman grant winners. The USATF Foundation notes that it will be giving $10,000 to 25 athletes who previously won $25,000, as well as 15 who had already been awarded $10,000.

Stephen A. Schwarzman, who serves as the chairman of Blackstone, claims that this is a vital time in the build up to this year’s Olympics in Tokyo. Alongside this, USATF Foundation chairman Bob Greifeld thanked each of the donors for making the fundraising effort a success, as well as for allowing the organization to apply a high standard of support to the athletes.

Award-winning track and field coach Simon N. Hodnett has more than two decades of experience coaching and managing various college athletics programs. In the course of his career, he has been a recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, and is a three-time Northeast Regional Coach of the Year and six-time Northeast Conference Men’s Track and Field Coach of the Year. He is head coach of men's and women’s track and field at Long Island University Brooklyn. Simon N. Hodnett belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a professional organization with a membership of 8,000 that represents men’s and women’s cross-country and track and field coaches in the United States. USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for coaches and lobbies for their interests. The Track and Field Academy is an educational and certification program from USTFCCCA designed to offer professional development opportunities for track and field and cross-country coaches at all levels of the sport.

The Track and Field Academy is the only professional improvement program that is designed by a coaching organization and uses an updated curriculum that is developed by highly successful coaches. As opposed to many programs that only address the technical aspects of coaching, the Track and Field Academy is an all-round training program that seeks to improve skills of coaches in other key areas such as budgeting, meet management, recruitment, purchasing, roster management, and academic monitoring among others. The logical sequence and organized mechanism of training ensures all key areas of the sport are well covered. Both USTFCCCA members and nonmembers are eligible to join the Track and Field Academy.
